. Job Description Opportunity at a Glance Covista is a leading
healthcare educator that partners with organizations to proactively
address future workforce needs and empowers career development with
access to world-class academic curriculums, certifications and
training programs across the medical and healthcare industries. We
are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and talented Controller to
oversee Covista's accounting, financial reporting and accounts
payable functions. In this role, you will oversee monthly,
quarterly and year-end financial close processes including global
consolidations. In addition, the Controller is responsible for
internal and external reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
and SEC requirements. In addition, the position is responsible for
maintaining an sound internal control environment while improving
the operational effectiveness of the accounting operations to
support Covista's operations. This key position provides high
visibility within the Finance organization with an excellent
opportunity to work closely with key executives (CFO, CAO, General
Counsel), expert advisors and auditors. The position is also a
strategic partner to the Corporate Development, HR, Legal,
FP&A, Treasury, IT and IR teams to help advance Covista's
strategy and growth objectives. Responsibilities Oversee all
day-to-day accounting functions including operational accounting,
technical accounting, SEC reporting and an accounts payable
function Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual
financial close, consolidation and financial reporting processes
while maintaining accuracy and integrity of the accounting records
and financial information Lead the preparation and review of
quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and other SEC
filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
and all regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining a
robust internal control environment across all accounting and
financial reporting processes Lead the accounts payable and
disbursements team and partner with the business and procurement
functions to ensure timely and accurate payment processing Lead the
US GAAP technical accounting analysis on applicable transactions
along with preparing technical accounting memorandums Partner with
FP&A and operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting,
variance analysis, and strategic decision-making Provide analysis
and insights into financial trends and key performance indicators
Partner with and lead cross-functional teams to develop and
implement accounting policies and procedures across the
organization Manage and coordinate with the external auditors
during quarterly reviews and annual audits Monitor the development
and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being
deliberated by the SEC, FASB, PCAOB, and other regulatory bodies.
Effectively manage multiple tasks in a dynamic
environment—responding promptly to inquiries while meeting critical
deadlines. Be a change agent and propose recommendations for
changes and improvements to accounting policies, procedures and
controls to meet business needs Lead ERP implementations, system
upgrades, and integration of new business units from an accounting
and financial reporting perspective Adhere to internal control
policies and procedures and maintain high ethical standards of
integrity, confidentiality and quality. Manage, mentor, and develop
a high-performing accounting team. Establish clear goals, oversee
workflow planning, and support cross-training to ensure operational
continuity. Foster a culture of continuous learning and
professional growth. Empower staff to identify and implement
process improvements. Provide periodic technical accounting
trainings to the members of the Accounting and Finance
organizations. Partner with Corporate Development, HR, Legal,
FP&A, Treasury, IT and other departments to achieve financial
and operational excellence. Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Bachelor's
Degree in Accounting required and Master's Degree required 15 years
of progressive accounting experience, with at least eight years in
leadership roles and demonstrated ability to build teams and
develop talent, drive team objectives and performance and achieve
results in a timely manner required. Strong technical knowledge in
U.S. GAAP, including deals, revenue recognition, leases, credit
losses, derivatives, internally developed software, stock-based
compensation, among other topics. Required Public accounting
experience required. Strong systems and process improvement
experience preferred. Strong US GAAP knowledge/technical skills:
strong managerial skills. Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and
resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing
strategies to resolve problems. Ability to prioritize and manage
multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and adapting
to changing priorities as needed. Strong verbal and written
communication and interpersonal skills; strong presentation skills
with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions
through concise and clear messaging. Effective negotiation skills,
a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and
strength in sustaining independent views. Strong relationship
management skills are essential. Bias for action and ability to
work in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) Required. Additional Information In support of the
pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected
salary range for this position is between $164,109.00 and
$296,747.25. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related
factors permitted by law, such as experience and training;
geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors;
