Job descriptionAdvanced Heart Group is a fast-paced, growing heart and vascular clinic seeking an Admissions Coordinator. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, has a friendly demeanor, is organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task. As the first point of contact, the Admissions Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients in ensuring insurance is up to date, the appropriate paperwork is complete, and that the clinical team is aware that the patient is ready to be treated.Essential Functions:Schedules and confirm patient office, testing and procedure appointments, check-ups, and physician referralsGreets patients, ascertain the purpose of visit, verifies insurance coverage obtains pre-authorizations and directs them to the appropriate staff and maintains the reception areaAnswer a multiline phone system and direct calls to appropriate staffGreet visitors, ascertain the purpose of the visit, and direct them to the appropriate staffCompiles and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence for our providers, patients, and referral partners.Obtains appropriate patients information needed to complete insurance and privacy forms and enter them into the EHR softwareCollects patient payment at the time of serviceAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment: good time management skills and attention to detailsAbility to function effectively independently and in an extended team environmentAvailable to work day, evening, and weekend hours.Must have reliable transportation to travel from and to various satellite clinicsPerforms light clerical duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Strong clerical skills including proficiency with EMRs, Microsoft Office, and keyboarding skills.Communicates clearly and concisely with patients, providers, and other teammatesProactively handles patient issues with compassion, confidence, and clarityTreats all patients, callers, visitors, and teammates with respect, courtesy, kindness, and dignityDemonstrates the ability to prioritize competing priorities, organize the workflow and professionally attend to competing demandsDesired Qualifications:Previous medical office experience preferredPrevious EMR experienceExperience in healthcare, specifically in Cardiology PracticesPhysical RequirementsThis position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a typical medical clinic and/or business office environment. Work in a clinical setting has the potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and infectious pathogens.
