Job Description:
Position Summary:This is a full-time, regular, exempt, senior
operations position with broad responsibility for overall
management and development of the assigned practice(s). Responsible
for operations, finance oversight, personnel, and quality functions
for assigned physician practice(s).. Proactively monitors financial
reports and formulates decisions based on key practice information
and data. This includes all administrative and business affairs of
the practice including but not limited to the areas listed below.
This position functions as the lead administrator of the practice
and as such includes direct supervisory responsibilities for five
to eight other managers and senior supervisory staff. Specific
primary responsibilities include but are not limited to management
and oversight of the following areas: Operations, Governance and
Leadership:Monitors the activities of all operating components to
ensure the practice successfully meets its objectivesAssist in the
strategic planning process and the development of strategic
business plansWorks with the corporate leadership team to determine
proper marketing strategy to support growth and provider patient
volumes to maximize templates. Implements strategy and reviews
progress.Function as liaison between practice and corporate
partnerFunction as liaison between practice and other outside
vendors providing service including suppliers, consultants,
property management, and others, as appropriate.Assistance as
needed with structure and function of related corporate entities
established for purposes of real estate holdings, clinical
research, etc. (as assigned).Financial Management and
Analysis:Review monthly completion of reports and
production/revenue trend analysis and recommendationsProvides
analysis/evaluation and recommendations on current and proposed
managed care payer contractsAnalyzes current payer mix and trend
analysis and works with corporate RCM to develop
recommendationsProvides oversight of practice cash management and
accounts receivable in conjunction with corporate
accounting/finance.Reviews and analyzes accounts payable, vendor
terms and overall expense structureBilling and
Collections:Oversight of billing and collections for the practice.
Routinely reviews and partners with corporate RCM team to ensure
accurately and timely payment posting and account follow-up and
collectionsProactively manages accounts receivable management and
analysis for the practiceEnsures Medicare complianceHuman
Resources/Payroll:In conjunction with corporate Human Resources,
provides final approval of all staff selected for hire. Supports
provider recruitment efforts.Reviews and approves time records of
all practice employees, and delegates where appropriate. Ensures
accurate and timely submittal for practice provider payroll and
hourly employee timesheets. Gathers relevant data for provider
compensation production calculations on a monthly basis. Provides
oversight and participation (as needed) in employee disciplinary
process including employment termination decisionsWith oversight
and guidance by Human Resources, administers and review of staff
performance evaluations, salary rates and adjustments per S&A
policy.Ensures practice compliance to the S&A of Employee
HandbookWorks with corporate Human Resources team to facilitate
employee leave management requests in accordance with local, state,
and federal laws and company policies. Schedules vacations
according to practice policy and current needs. Procures coverage
for absent employees as appropriate. Ensure OSHA
compliance.Additional Areas of Responsibility: Credentialing: In
conjunction with corporate team members, ensures credentialing,
licensing, registration and certification of all practice providers
is complete and maintained, including maintaining provider CME
dataRisk Management: In conjunction with corporate team members,
provides oversight of complaint risk management and
evaluation/negotiation of malpractice insurance coverage options
along with development of asset protection strategies for practice
HIPAA: Effectively manages practice medical records and patient
information management system. Ensures HIPAA compliance in all
practice activitiesFacilities management: Ensures a high level of
cleanliness and safety in the practice at all times. Takes steps to
ensure the physical facilities are in good operating
condition.Information Technology: Liaises with corporate IT and
outside IT vendors on computer network operations including all
hardware, software, and network components including deployment,
security, access, virus protection, etc.Performs other duties as
required. Minimum Requirements:Graduation from a recognized college
or university with a bachelor's degree Business Administration,
Healthcare Administration, or related field. A master's degree in
business, health administration, public health, or public
administration from an accredited graduate program of a reputable
university strongly preferred. Five years of progressively complex
prior experience in medical practice management including broad
responsibility for supervision of staff and for operations across
multiple functional areas and geographic sites. Prior experience in
dermatology or plastic surgery strongly preferred.Extensive
familiarity with desktop personal computers operating under Windows
and experience with Practice Management program and applications
required. Certification as either a CMPE or FACMPE from MGMA/ACMPE
is highly desirable. Significant communication skills, language and
interpersonal skills, verbal and written are essential. The ability
to lead meetings and present information in a clear manner to
multiple levels junior staff, senior staff, physicians is
