Job Description:
Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the
ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on
Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people
overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions,
trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients
to live freely. About This Role We are seeking an experienced
Director of Nursing to join our team. In partnership with the rest
of the Northbrook leadership team, you will play a key role in
building and shaping a strong culture at the location, while
offering direct coaching and development to our team. Our location
in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not
only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot
site for many of our new treatment offerings. What You’ll Do:
Manage the various activities of this department and to ensure that
proper and timely healthcare is provided to our patients Maintain
and implement nursing policies and procedures that conform to
current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and
operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and
federal laws and regulations Communicate and interpret policies and
procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and
implementation Oversee personnel selection, supervision practices,
and ongoing training and evaluation for the nursing department
Conduct staff nurse evaluations and training regarding clinical
practices, EMR use, and Compass Health Center protocols Collaborate
with staff nurses and treatment team to develop, support and
coordinate services that ensure delivery of holistic and
individualized quality care to Compass Health Center patients
Collaborate with Senior Director of Nursing, Chief Clinical
Officer, and leaders across the organization in implementation of
Compass wide initiatives, including Access to Care, Optimal
Outcomes, Continuity & Excellence, and Patient & Family Engagement
Be an active participant of the Crisis Team and serve as an
alternate Incident Commander Promote customer service and
hospitality and responds to and adequately resolves complaints or
concerns from patients and their families about nursing services
Assure staff is trained in fire and disaster and other emergency
procedures, and evaluates performance during drills Exercise
overall related administrative functions and clinical
responsibilities within the scope of nursing Aptitude to gain
working knowledge and expertise of staff nurse duties and
responsibilities Perform other duties as requested Who You Are:
Hold a BSN degree Registered Nurse with current licensure to
practice in Illinois Are certified in Healthcare Provider CPR 7
years of progressive nursing experience, ideally with 2 years of
management experience Mental health experience Internal applicants
must have experience successfully implementing organizational
initiatives including Optimal Outcomes and Access to Care High
degree of leadership, excellent interpersonal communication skills,
organizational ability, and time management. Possess excellent
therapeutic communication skills Prolonged periods of sitting at a
desk and working on a computer and standing, bending, and moving
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Employee may also be
