Job Description Job Description Job Title: Batch Operator Job Description The batch operator role involves working on the production floor, primarily responsible for weighing and preparing batches. The operator will handle drums, weighing up to 500 lbs, and prepare them for shipment. The role includes filling 2-3 batches per day, closely monitoring the filling process to prevent spills, and sending batches for quality control testing. Cleaning tasks using various solutions and cross-training for flexibility in various tasks are also part of the job. Responsibilities Work safely in a production environment in close proximity to others. Fill containers according to instructions per ISO documents. Complete all necessary paperwork on batch tickets. Operate equipment including mixers, pumps with filters, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual drum moving equipment. Clean all related equipment using solvent blends. Transfer hazardous wastes to the satellite hazardous waste area as needed. Follow batch making instructions and report any issues to the supervisor. Efficiently identify and choose the location and materials used in batches. Multitask effectively to produce finished products while operating multiple mills and processes. Manufacture pastes and dispersions using HSD mixers in the mill room. Handle multiple bags of powder during a shift as required. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and production. Ability to read and write English. Positive and coachable attitude. Capability to lift 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with batch mixing. Forklift experience. Experience with inks or paints. Troubleshooting skills. General labor and machine operation experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position operates on the 2nd shift from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with occasional overtime and Saturday shifts. The work involves mixing batches of paints, with a noticeable paint smell in the air. The role requires reading from specification sheets and documenting work to ensure accuracy. The environment encourages a positive attitude and adaptability to learning new processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
