Maintains records of financial transactions by reconciling certain G/L accounts and posting transactions. Serves both interior and exterior automated payment customers by providing product and service information as well as resolving its problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reconciles the overall General Ledger as well as certain, individual G/L accountsInitiates and inputs all outgoing wire transfers via Fed LineBack-up processor of Reg E claimsPerforms a variety of functions related to reconciling the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system and daily maintenanceBack-up to the department Vice President with regards to reconciling Teller Cash, Teller Difference and Teller TradesResearches any and all claims for adjustment, clearance of unsettled items (General Ledger)Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, advising management on needed actionsResolves all ACH product or service problems by researching and interpreting data, clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, following up to ensure resolutionBack-up all bank Levy's, Citations, and Garnishments that are presented for collection. This includes debiting the customer's account, maintaining an escrow account for the funds held, mailing correspondence to the customer informing them of our actions, mailing correspondence to our attorneys, and submitting the funds to the proper parties when dueProtects organization's value by keeping information confidentialYearly update of BCR PlanAdheres to Code of Conduct and internal controls for which this position is responsibleActively complying with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank's internal policies and procedures contained in the Human Resources Policy and Procedures Manual as well as the Employee Handbook and the Employee Code of Conduct.Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years of College or 3 years of banking experience Excellent judgement and decision making skillsA self-motivator with the ability to process a high volume of daily transactions N.A.C.H.A. experience or AAP certificationExcellent communications skills to interact with customers Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
